Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled TechOps Generalist to join our team at Octopus Energy. As a TechOps Generalist, you will be responsible for providing technical support to all areas of the business, ensuring our employees can work efficiently. Your problems are our problems, and you will be a key partner in defining what TechOps is at Octopus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to all areas of the business, ensuring employees can work efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and fix technical issues, from laptop faults to account provisioning failures.
  • Collaborate with our Security team to ensure the right balance between security, productivity, and user experience.
  • Continually find opportunities to automate processes and improve the user experience.
  • Empower employees to help themselves by designing and building self-service solutions.
  • Monitor and maintain all tech in our offices around the world - networks, meeting rooms, printers, digital signage, CCTV, door access control.
  • Manage supplier relationships and the procurement process for SaaS and hardware.
  • Lead and manage complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders from around the business.

Requirements
  • Experience leading on a range of technical projects across various technologies and platforms.
  • Experience with scripting, using APIs, and automating mundane tasks.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and spinning multiple plates at once.
  • Experience working with multiple teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting, managing, and deploying applications to macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android devices.
  • Experience with Identity & Access Management systems like Okta or Microsoft Entra.
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting Single Sign-On (SSO) technologies.
  • An understanding of identity provisioning technologies.
  • Experience designing and installing office networks.
