Clinical Specialist in Mental Health Speech and Language Therapy
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team as a Clinical Specialist in Mental Health. The successful candidate will work in a community setting, providing assessment and intervention services for adults with mental health diagnoses.
This is a 12-month secondment opportunity, ideal for a Band 5 or 6 SLT looking to develop their skills in mental health and dysphagia assessment and intervention.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate specialist clinical expertise in the assessment, treatment, and management of language and communication problems in adults with mental health diagnoses.
- Develop knowledge and skills in dysphagia, autism, mental health, AAC, and dementia, consulting with a clinical supervisor as appropriate.
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist who can demonstrate:
- Dysphagia assessment and intervention skills
- Knowledge of some MH diagnosis, such as dementia and schizophrenia
The successful candidate will have good communication skills, be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, and have experience working in SLT services.
