Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment professional to join our team at Warburtons. As a key member of our site management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that effective management systems are in place to deliver our Company Occupational Health and Safety and Environment Policy and meet legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the National Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) strategy, ensuring that HSE best practice standards are developed and maintained on site that are compliant with statutory and company policy.
  • Manage HSE spend locally to ensure it is within budget.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and legally correct assistance and advice to line managers on site in all aspects of the Health, Safety and the Environment.
  • Foster a positive HSE culture by ensuring the accountability for HSE is accepted by managers and employees. Act as a coach and facilitator for line managers and provide appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Identify HSE learning needs for the site (bakery and depot) and provide cost-effective solutions to meet these needs, through liaison with the TLandD Manager.
  • Identify areas for improvement as a result of risk assessments, audits, accidents and incidents and ensure that these are followed to completion to ensure continuous improvement and learning.
  • Understand, monitor and maintain the site's (bakery and depot) performance against the requirements of the Warburton's HSE management system. Recommend improvements to the HSE management system, taking part in company-wide improvement projects where required.
  • Lead initiatives designed to improve commitment at all levels, to continuously improve standards of HSE to benefit site performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role.
