Job Title: Health and Safety Manager
Location: Enfield
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Circa £65,000 - £70,000 plus car / allowance and competitive package.
A leading contractor in the civil engineering and infrastructure sectors is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team on a major infrastructure project. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring sites through the audit process, ensuring a construction phase health & safety plan is prepared and accepted, and introducing initiatives to improve standards and ensure safe working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the monitoring of sites through the audit process, in a proactive manner to address any issues.
- Ensure a construction phase health & safety plan is prepared and accepted before works start and make sure the plan is continually updated.
- Introduce initiatives to improve standards and ensure safe working, whilst focusing on the proactive side of health & safety management.
- In cases of difference of opinion on health & safety issues, lead negotiations to reach the best solution for the project.
- Ensure a schedule of weekly health & safety inspections is established and monitored, including operational staff, senior management and support services.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Health and Safety Manager working on a major infrastructure project.
- NEBOSH Diploma (Ideally) but will consider NEBOSH General or NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NVQ L3 in Health and Safety.
- Degree or equivalent in Environment Management / Sciences / Sustainability and/or completion of IEMA Foundation Certificate.
