We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neurology Consultant to join our team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of neurology and a passion for delivering excellent patient care.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented individual to contribute to the development of our Neurology service. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical advice and guidance to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.

You will also be expected to participate in multidisciplinary teams, lead the coordination of care for patients, and contribute to training and teaching of Junior Doctors.

About the Role
  • Provide outpatient sessions at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals and at a peripheral hospital, as required by the service needs.
  • Promote high standards of clinical care for patients through direct patient care and maintaining continuing professional development.
  • Participate in on-call rota and provide direct input to patients.
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams and lead the co-ordination of care for patients within Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
  • Requirement to provide in-reach at local district general hospital site, to be discussed at interview.
  • Contribute to training and teaching of Junior Doctors.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong background in neurology and a deep understanding of its principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and patients.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience of leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Good knowledge of medical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
What We Offer
