About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team (CNRT) in Central Lancashire. The CNRT provides ongoing rehabilitation services to patients with predominantly stroke and acquired brain injury (ABI) diagnoses.


Key Responsibilities:
  • To work as part of the rehabilitation and/or stroke/neurological service line and be responsible for assessment and management of a clinical caseload of patients with complex needs.
  • To promote health and reduce inequalities for all patients accessing the service, so that they may be able to maximise their potential in terms of health education and social well-being.
  • To lead/contribute to training and development programmes as appropriate to the knowledge and skills of the individual, delivering to other professionals both within and outside the NHS and service users.
  • To be responsible for own continuing professional development and maintaining own professional registration and meet HPC/NMC Registration requirements maintain a professional portfolio and demonstrating evidence of reflective practice.

Requirements:

We are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist who has a strong background in neurological rehabilitation and a passion for working with patients with complex needs. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Therapy, along with current professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HPC). They will also have postgraduate qualifications in specialist fields and evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) in related areas.

You will need to have a good understanding of clinical governance frameworks, including audit and research governance, as well as experience of improving and developing services and practices. Excellent time management skills and change management skills are also essential.

In addition, you will need to be able to work flexibly across the LSCFT footprint to meet business needs and service delivery objectives.

The salary for this position is approximately £38,000-£48,000 per annum, depending on experience.
