Student Retention and Engagement Role

The Strategic Retention Lead will be responsible for leading the Student Retention team in supporting our faculties. This role is strategic in nature and requires developing policies and procedures to ensure student engagement and retention.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience and strong communication skills to adapt messages for a diverse audience. They will be able to plan and prioritise effectively, work collaboratively in a team, and build and maintain positive relationships with students.

Key responsibilities include ensuring that every retention officer is aware of the roles and responsibilities as a Retention officer, developing innovative and thoughtful strategies aimed at improving performance in partnership with the faculties, and tracking and monitoring new student referrals into the system.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for working with the Planning, Information and Delivery team to prepare data for the Senior Management team and Academic Deans on students referred to the Student Retention Team, as well as providing an annual review of student retention services, highlighting the impact on student progression and completion of courses.

The Strategic Retention Lead will be expected to demonstrate their commitment to GBS values and regulations, including equal opportunities policy, and to their Health and Safety responsibilities to ensure their contribution to a safe and secure working environment for staff, students, and other visitors to the campus.
