We strive to provide high-quality healthcare services that meet the needs of our community. As a General Practice Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, effective, and cost-effective prescribing practices within GP practices across North Ayrshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use and develop your clinical expertise, including independent prescribing where applicable, to work with patients as part of a multidisciplinary practice team.
- Ensure quality and cost-effective prescribing within GP practices to meet NHS Ayrshire & Arran's efficiency savings.
- Support the delivery of safe, clinically effective, and cost-effective prescribing by providing GP practice-based clinical audit and patient-facing medication reviews on specific topics.
- Provide expert advice on prescribing and medicines use in a broad range of therapeutic areas and clinical settings to GPs, nurses, other healthcare professionals, and patients.
Requirements:
- Clinical expertise, good communication, organisational, and IT skills.
- Ability to work with patients and other healthcare professionals.
- Masters of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent.
- Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain (including evidence of continuing professional development).
- Driving licence/car ownership is essential for this role.
