About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Workplace Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team, you will play a critical role in driving improvements in workplace safety and health across our sites.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with WHS to develop and implement effective safety programs and initiatives.
  2. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
  3. Develop and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures.
  4. Provide training and guidance to employees on safety protocols and procedures.
  5. Investigate and report on workplace incidents and near misses.
  6. Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and industry partners.
  9. Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Requirements
  1. Education to a degree level and additional qualifications to an NVQ5/NEBOSH Diploma level.
  2. Professional training in a technical profession, preferably mechatronics or electrics.
  3. Relevant experience managing projects and teams.
  4. Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
  5. Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English.
  6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologies.
  2. Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability.
  3. Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership.
  4. Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
  5. Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
  6. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
  7. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
