Business Operations

The Business Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Chief Operating Officer in developing and implementing the organization's operations. This includes providing strategic and tactical support in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the organization's operations, as well as advancing the financial, legal, and compliance, and human resource functions.

  • Support the Chief Operating Officer in developing and implementing the organization's operations, including financial, legal, and compliance, and human resource functions.
  • Develop and implement system standards, write and implement policy, and inform best practices.
  • Manage the organization's expense and corporate credit card platform, bill-pay platform, and payroll system.
  • Liaise with the finance vendor on all accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
Legal and Compliance

The Business Manager serves as the primary point of contact with the organization's insurance broker and liaises closely with the organization's legal team. This includes generating and processing contracts, maintaining the contract database, and developing and maintaining a robust suite of templates.

  • Maintain all annual nonprofit, tax, corporate, charitable, and related registrations.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with all nonprofit policies and annual renewals paperwork.
Payroll and HRIS Management

The Business Manager is responsible for running biweekly and monthly payroll, entering, maintaining, and/or processing information in the HRIS/Payroll system, and ensuring proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, etc.
