About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Ward Receptionist to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will be responsible for providing a warm and welcoming smile, as well as excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Fulfill all necessary reception, clerical, administrative, and general tasks to facilitate and record patient information using technology systems.
- Provide courteous and considerate service to patients, visitors, and staff at all times.
- Utilize basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and have a typing speed of at least RSA level 2.
- Be familiar with NUH programs such as Care Flow, Patient Transport, and Notis.
Requirements
- Secondary School standard of education in basic numeracy and literacy.
- Evidence of personal development in previous employment.
- Relevant work experience of at least 1 year.
- Previous employment within a health field or working within a team.
- Clerical experience.
- Able to produce short, accurate written messages and effectively communicate with patients, visitors, and staff in a clear and articulate manner.
- Good telephone manner.
- Friendly and approachable.
- Trustworthiness and ability to maintain strict confidentiality (data protection).
- Judgment of when to refer issues to relevant senior staff.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Calm and well-organized.
- Flexible.
- Ability to manage own workload but assist any member of staff where needed.
