Job Title: A&E General Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated A&E General Nurse to join our team at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our ward team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our department.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in oncology and a proven track record of delivering excellent nursing care. You will be responsible for ensuring that all prescribed drugs and treatments are given correctly and in accordance with Trust policy, including the correct care and custody of controlled drugs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring that all patients receive a safe and effective treatment plan.
  2. Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care.
  3. Participate in the rehabilitation of patients and provide support to relatives as needed.
  4. Ensure that all prescribed drugs and treatments are given correctly and in accordance with Trust policy.
  5. Participate in internal rotation to night duty as required.
  6. Provide a supportive role within the ward for nursing, medical, and clerical staff.
  7. Participate in nursing procedures appropriate to the ward.
  8. Support and assist in the induction/training of junior staff/Health Care Assistants.
  9. Act as ward co-ordinator in the absence of senior staff and ensure the safe and timely throughput of patients.
Person Specification

We are looking for a nurse with:

  1. Nursing Degree or Diploma with NMC registration.
  2. Experience or interest in caring for oncology/palliative care patients.
  3. Ability to deliver high standards of nursing care.
  4. Basic computer literacy.
  5. Altered Airway Care.
