Experienced Primary Education Specialist

As an experienced primary teacher, you will support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs outside of mainstream settings. This tutor role is ideal for a teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working with children who have various behavioral needs.
The location for this role will vary depending on the need of the pupil, but it will be pre-agreed prior to commencement of tuition. All pupils for this role will be based in Northumberland, so access to your own vehicle is essential.
Responsibilities:- Working with children who may have additional needs or are looked after children
- Building rapport and a good relationship with the pupils
- Providing educational sessions face-to-face with children at their homes or a local area, such as a library
- Planning resources around the child's needs
- Keeping the child engaged with tasks, which is essential in this role
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with children or young people
- Able to plan and deliver core and cross-curricular engaging sessions
- Applying skills to get pupils' education back up to speed
- Managing and implementing different behavior strategies
- Checking that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide feedback
- Desirable – SEN experience
