About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Tesco. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the management of our modern pharmacies and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management of our pharmacies, ensuring accurate dispensing of medication and maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Apply your technical skills and strong customer focus to provide a great service to our customers.
  • Dispense prescription medicines, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy are maintained at all times.
  • Provide information to customers on common ailments, symptoms, and products, and offer advice on the range of pharmacy services available.
  • Support and deliver pharmacy services and the dispensing process according to standard operating procedures.
  • Assess the legal appropriateness of dispensed prescriptions and deal with clinical and legal queries from healthcare practitioners.
  • Respond to customer queries and inform the pharmacist of any complaints.
  • Ensure all dispensary routines and standard operating procedures are followed, and maintain a clean and tidy dispensary and consulting room.
  • Ensure all prescription administration is accurate and completed on time.
  • Bring promotional activities and company initiatives within the team to life.
  • Carry out all procedures accurately to protect profit and ensure we trade safely and legally.
  • Support the pharmacy manager and duty pharmacy manager with the supervision and development of other members of the pharmacy team.
  • Maintain a personal development record with the GPhC and complete corporate and departmental training.
  • Keep up to date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy and maintain annual registration with the GPhC.

Requirements

  • A pharmacy technician or accuracy checking technician NVQ (or similar) qualification.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacy technician or accuracy checking technician.
  • Proof of completion of a recognised training course for an accuracy checking technician or pharmacy technician.
  • Proof of completing your annual continuing professional development requirements.
