Your new role at a leading student accommodation provider in London will involve maintaining assets through management of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes and reactive maintenance activities. As a Fabric Engineer, you will be part of the dedicated team for your site and will assist in supporting the facilities, PPM, reactive maintenance and lifecycle of the building, to ensure customer property management objectives and KPI targets are met.

Key duties will include:

  • Hands-on maintenance with a focus on plant rooms (PPMs and minor repairs as appropriate)
  • Liaising with external contractors for electrical and mechanical maintenance
  • Fabric maintenance where required (painting, carpentry etc.)
  • Point of contact for maintenance assistants on site (not directly line managing)
  • Support maintenance manager with the achievement of 100% compliance in audit
  • Ensure adherence to H&S policies and ensuring that risk assessments and method statements are obtained/maintained

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will require experience in a maintenance position within a commercial environment, ideally within a multi-floor residential setting (student accommodation, hotel, apartments etc.). You will also require:

  • Experience working in plant rooms for PPMs, minor repairs and maintenance, and to liaise with specialist contractors as appropriate
  • Maintenance experience - minor plant room repairs, minor plumbing, minor AC, fabric repairs etc.
  • PPM knowledge
  • H&S and compliance knowledge and awareness
  • Ability to work as a team and support assistants on site
