Supportive Companion for Young Person with Autism

We are seeking a supportive companion to join us in working with a 13-year-old male who has Autism, ADHD, and sensory processing difficulties.
The ideal candidate will be patient, creative, and able to engage the young person in activities he enjoys, such as photography, making short films, swimming, go-carting, walking, and trampolining.
The term time hours are primarily on weekends and holidays, and we are flexible to meet the needs of the young person and his family.
The successful candidate will have the ability to build a positive relationship with the young person, which may take some time. They will also need to be approachable, caring, and confident in working with young people.
Whilst experience working with children with SEND is desirable, it is not essential. What is more important is having the right qualities and a person-centred approach.
Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of working with children, and will be comfortable supporting a young person with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:- To support the young person with daily activities and routines
- To engage the young person in activities that promote social interaction and skill development
- To provide emotional support and stability to the young person
- To work collaboratively with the young person's family to ensure their needs are met
- Experience working with children with SEND is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of child development and behaviour management principles
- Ability to communicate effectively with the young person, their family, and other professionals
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the young person
- A competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
