Lead Youth Worker Position

Embark on a rewarding journey with Young People Count (YPC) as a Lead Youth Worker, committing to a fulfilling part-time role of 24 hours per week. Your core presence is essential from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday, at the YPC premises. You will also be required to work at the premises to prepare for activities, host meetings and support the upkeep of the premise including conducting health and safety checks. There are also opportunities to work from home and flexible working.

As a Lead Youth Worker, you will be a cornerstone of our team, actively shaping and enriching the lives of young individuals in our community. Your dedication will play a pivotal role in the success of our youth programs at YPC.

Position Details:
Hours: 24 hours per week (core hours: 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday to Friday).

Flexibility: Remote work for remaining hours, offering convenience and flexibility.

Wage: Starting from £11 per hour, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the planning, organising, and execution of youth programs and activities including setting up activities and overseeing the physical management of the premises.

Foster positive relationships with young people, providing mentorship and guidance with maintaining professional boundaries.

Design and implement initiatives to actively enhance the skills and talents of young individuals.

Oversee the maintenance of accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with data protection and confidentiality policies.

Lead and collaborate with a team of staff and volunteers in the development and delivery of comprehensive youth work programs.

Initiate and participate in continuous learning opportunities, staying abreast of local or national opportunities and best practices.

Ensure strict adherence to organisational policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and ethical work environment.

Work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to a positive and supportive work culture.

Attend and actively participate in meetings and events, representing the organisation and advocating for youth-centric initiatives.

Empower young individuals by encouraging and facilitating their involvement in leadership roles and decision-making processes.

Extend the organisation's reach by engaging with the community and stakeholders to promote youth programs.

Regularly assess the effectiveness of programs, providing insights for continuous improvement and carrying out ongoing monitoring and evaluation under the direction of the Project Manager.

Contribute to budget planning and oversee budget allocation for youth programs.

Qualifications and Skills:
A strong desire to work with young people.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience working with young people is desirable.
