Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Apple Orchard. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people aged 13-18 years.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and supportive team, making a positive impact on the lives of young people. As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating a caring and motivating environment that meets the individual needs of each young person.
  • Planning and preparing activities that stimulate learning and integration within the home.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, guidelines, and policies to safeguard the welfare of young people.
  • Observing and assessing progress, maintaining accurate records, and producing life books for key working responsibilities.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with parents/carers, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Contributing to a team environment that promotes a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with teenage boys or challenging behaviour.
  • A willingness to further develop your skills and qualifications.
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle (due to the rural location of our services).
  • A Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Flexibility with working hours, including shift work and occasional weekends.
  • The ability to challenge unacceptable behaviour, provide firm boundaries, and meet the individual needs of each young person.
