Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Apple Orchard. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people aged 13-18 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Develop and implement activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of the young people, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with young people, parents, and carers, promoting open communication and trust.
  • Contribute to the creation of a warm and welcoming atmosphere within the home, encouraging young people to feel valued and respected.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with teenage boys or challenging behavior is desirable.
  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential due to the rural location of our services.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in Residential Childcare or a related field, such as the Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and shift work, with every other weekend off.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and listen to young people.
  • Capacity to work as part of a team, following delegated tasks and handovers, and maintaining policies and procedures.
