About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to join our team at Leeds City College. As a key member of our student café service, you will work closely with our Chef Manager to deliver exceptional customer service, assist in food preparation, and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and efficient service to customers, exceeding their expectations at all times.
  • Assist the Chef Manager in food preparation, including meal planning, cooking, and presentation.
  • Stock and clean vending machines, ensuring they are always fully stocked and in good working order.
  • Operate an EPOS till, accurately processing transactions and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the café and cooking areas, including washing up and cleaning of equipment.
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required by the Chef Manager or other senior staff members.

  • You will be thorough and pay attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • You will hold a level food hygiene certificate or be willing to work towards obtaining one.
