About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Homelessness Service in Westminster. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support to our customers, helping them to develop the life skills they need to meet their assessed needs.

Our service, Edward Alsop Court, offers specialist support to homeless men, addressing re-offending behavior, mental health issues, physical health needs, and substance misuse. We implement the Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) model, which considers the psychological needs of both our customers and staff.

As a Support Worker, you will work with customers to promote social inclusion and independent living, encouraging them to maximize their skills and choices. You will also be part of a dynamic team that provides a flexible and individually tailored support package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physical, domestic, emotional, and social care to customers
  • Work with customers to promote social inclusion and independent living
  • Support customers to manage their tenancies and move towards greater independence
  • Participate in the Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) model
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to provide a comprehensive support package
Requirements

We are looking for someone who is fundamentally calm and resilient, with a practical and logical mind. You should be able to cope positively with challenging and diverse behaviors. Typical qualifications from none to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent, or experience in the social care/charity sector, are desirable.
