About the Role

The Team Leader Scalable Systems Administrator will be responsible for leading a team of IT professionals in delivering high-performance computing services to a diverse user community within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of IT professionals and develop their skills in line with business requirements.
  • Configure and optimize Linux-based HPC environments for maximum performance and reliability.
  • Implement security best practices to safeguard HPC systems and data.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Work with software and IT teams to enhance computing capability.
  • Mentor and upskill junior team members.

Essential Experience

  • Experience with virtual desktop environments, HPC environments, and Linux operating systems.
  • Extensive experience with configuration and optimization of queue systems and assisting end users with job scripts.
  • Proven experience with Low Latency or RDMA network technologies and Linux scripting languages in HPC.
  • Ability to lead a team and convey technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, or other virtualized desktop systems.

Qualifications

A Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or equivalent field) or relevant technical experience.
