About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Team Leader Scalable Systems Administrator to join our team at QinetiQ Limited. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for leading a team of IT professionals and providing technical expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance computing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of IT professionals and provide guidance on the development and growth of their skills.
  • Configure and optimize Linux-based HPC environments for maximum performance and reliability.
  • Implement security best practices to safeguard HPC systems and data.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Work with software and IT teams to enhance computing capabilities and deploy high-performance computing solutions.
  • Mentor and upskill junior team members, providing redundancy in skills and career development.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience with Virtual desktop environments, HPC environments, and Linux operating and administration systems.
  • Proven experience with Low Latency or RDMA network technologies and Linux scripting languages in HPC environments.
  • A good understanding of common HPC programming languages to assist in debugging code issues.
  • A Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or equivalent field) or relevant technical experience.
