Job Overview

As a member of our central peripatetic team, you will work across identified Early Learning and Childcare settings to support and improve quality of provision in Scottish Borders Council. Your focus will be on areas where children face the greatest disadvantage, under the direction of the Improvement and Support Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with schools and partner providers to enhance Early Learning and Childcare provision.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address disadvantage and improve outcomes for children.
  • Provide guidance and support to Early Learning and Childcare practitioners.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure high-quality provision.

Requirements

  • BA Childhood Practice or SCQF Level 9 Professional Development Award.
  • HNC in Early Education and Childcare/ SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) (SCQF level 7) or equivalent.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and CPD.
  • Registration with the SSSC within 6 months of taking up employment.
  • A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
