Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team in our Older Persons Community and In-patient Mental Health Service. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will apply your expertise in communication disorders and dysphagia to the care and management of older adults.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex caseload independently, prioritizing and organizing your workload effectively.
  • Assess clients referred for specialist Speech and Language Therapy, utilizing your expertise in dysphagia and communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, communicating and negotiating with clients and their carers.
  • Provide specialist professional advice on the management and care of patients with dementia and feeding and swallowing difficulties.
  • Communicate treatment plans to multi-disciplinary team colleagues and partnership agencies.
  • Demonstrate empathy and effective communication with service users, carers, families, and colleagues.
