Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at a private hospital in Colchester, Essex. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing expert assessment, advice, and intervention to individuals with complex communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver an evidence-based SLT service to meet the needs of individuals with complex communication needs
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to assess, advise, and intervene with individuals to promote functional communication systems
  • Train others, promote good practice, and maintain a successful inclusive communication environment

Requirements:

  • Registration with the HCPC as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • Experience in the field of Learning Disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders and Mental Health Conditions
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support with an emphasis on person-centred planning
  • Knowledge of sensory needs and how these may impact on functioning and regulation
  • Dysphagia training (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Enthusiasm, motivation, and passion
