Consultant Psychiatrist Adult Community Service

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adult Community Pathway Team. This is a replacement post that will work across both Primary and Secondary Care, providing clinical leadership and psychiatric expertise for the Bury North IDT, West Suffolk.

Main Duties of the Job

The job plans and working patterns of doctors reflect the functional requirements of the Locality and the National Service Framework for Mental Health. The job allows for the possibility of a special interest, teaching and research, management duties, administration and continuing professional development.

Person Specification Attributes

Clinical Governance
  • A clear understanding of Clinical Governance.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to open review of practice.
Teaching
  • Experience of supervising junior medical staff.
  • Teaching and presentation skills.
Qualifications
  • Entry on the GMC register.
  • Section 12(2) Approved under the Mental Health Act (MHA).
  • Approved Clinician Status.
  • Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST.
Experience
  • 6 months experience in relevant clinical area.
  • 3 years or equivalent medical experience.
  • Evidence of knowledge of diagnosis, treatment and management of complex mental illness.
