Job Summary

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is embarking on an exciting expansion of its Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), with a focus on developing its Neurodevelopmental pathway. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced specialist to join our team as a Neurodevelopmental Specialist, working across Sussex CAMHS. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist clinical assessments, including psychiatric and physical investigations, to children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders. They will work collaboratively with other members of the team to develop and implement individually tailored treatment plans, ensuring that care is safe, effective, and caring. The specialist will also contribute to the development of the Neurodevelopmental pathway, working closely with other teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements
  • 12 years post-qualification experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Full registration with the GMC
  • High-level knowledge and experience of neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Experience of working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge. They will have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. The candidate will also have a strong understanding of the theory and practice related to neurodevelopmental disorders.
