Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

At Apple Orchard, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for young people in our care.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual to work with teenage boys in a residential setting. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support, and will be able to work effectively as part of a team to ensure the well-being and development of our young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, working closely with the young person, their family, and other professionals to ensure their needs are met.
  • Engage in activities and outings that promote socialization, education, and personal growth, such as sports, arts, and cultural events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the young person's progress, including their behavior, achievements, and any challenges they may face.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a consistent and high-quality approach to care and support.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with young people in a residential setting, preferably with a focus on teenage boys.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in childcare or a related field, such as a Diploma in Residential Childcare or a NVQ in Health and Social Care.
  • Be able to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, to meet the needs of the young people in our care.
  • Have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support, and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
