Group Director of Skills

NOCN Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Group Director of Skills. This is a full-time permanent position that requires the successful candidate to work as part of NOCN's Executive Committee.

Location: UK Mobile worker (with office attendance)

Salary: ES1 + Option of Octopus Energy Car Scheme

About NOCN Group:

NOCN Group is an educational charity whose core aims are to help learners reach their potential and organisations thrive. The group includes business units specialising in regulated UK and international qualifications, End Point Assessment, assured short courses, SMART job cards, assessment services, consultancy, and research.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the strategic management of NOCN Group as a member of the Executive Committee, formulating the business strategy and plan for the NOCN Group.
  2. Develop and expand NOCN Group's non-regulated skills solution, including assured programs, endorsed programs, on-line programs, and other similar products to a wide range of sectors, in accordance with employer requirements.
  3. Support the charitable values and aims of NOCN Group, including its objective to influence Government policy and promote education and skills development for young people and adults.
  4. Ensure that the business development team are aware of all UK funding opportunities for our products and services, as a key selling point to support providers with maximizing curriculum planning using funded skills.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or industry equivalent experience.
  • Management Qualification or equivalent membership.
  • Experience of leading the development of skills solutions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of curriculum planning processes.
  • Occupational experience in educational sectors.
  • Experience in business sales.
  • Experience of working with diverse stakeholders including colleges, training providers and employers.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Recognised trainer qualification.
  • Assessor/ Internal Verifier/ External Verifier qualifications.
  • Experience of skills credentialing and passport schemes.
  • Proven track record in remote staff management.
