Job Overview

NOCN Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Group Director of Skills. This position plays a crucial part in the Executive Committee, contributing to the strategic management of the organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating the business strategy and plan for NOCN Group, working closely with the Executive Committee, Group Board, and subsidiary Boards. They will also contribute to the strategic planning process for non-regulated skills solutions, including skills cards, online programs, assured and endorsed programs, and other similar products.

The Group Director of Skills will support the charitable values and aims of NOCN Group, promoting education and skills development for young people and adults. They will also ensure that the business development team is aware of all UK funding opportunities for NOCN Group's products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the strategic management of NOCN Group as a member of the Executive Committee.
  • Formulate the business strategy and plan for NOCN Group, working closely with the Executive Committee, Group Board, and subsidiary Boards.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning process for non-regulated skills solutions, including skills cards, online programs, assured and endorsed programs, and other similar products.
  • Support the charitable values and aims of NOCN Group, promoting education and skills development for young people and adults.
  • Ensure that the business development team is aware of all UK funding opportunities for NOCN Group's products and services.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or industry equivalent experience.
  • Management Qualification or equivalent membership.
  • Experience of leading the development of skills solutions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of curriculum planning processes.
  • Occupational experience in educational sectors.
  • Experience in business sales.
  • Experience of working with diverse stakeholders including colleges, training providers, and employers.

Desirable Criteria

  • Recognised trainer qualification.
  • Assessor/Internal Verifier/External Verifier qualifications.
  • Experience of skills credentialing and passport schemes.
  • Proven track record in remote staff management.
