Role/DepartmentAs a Director of Process Engineering, you will be part of the Enterprise Resiliency Office (ERO) leadership team, working closely with the Chief Resiliency Officer and the Executive Management Team to deliver strategic change in our resiliency capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement process engineering methodologies, standards, and tools to drive business value.
- Define the approach and operating model to build process engineering capabilities across the firm.
- Lead the delivery of enterprise-level initiatives to complete value chain mapping and interdependency analysis for all Northern Trust legal entities globally.
- Develop and execute Resiliency Stress Scenario testing for critical interdependencies.
- Build a scenario library and horizon scanning process to identify potential disruptions to critical value chains.
- Identify and manage process optimization opportunities.
- Operationalize Vulnerability Assessment and Management approach in each Business Unit, including Issue Management/Risk Treatment.
- Create training materials to embed Operational Resiliency Framework.
- Oversee the maintenance of the value chain and interdependency map.
- Report vulnerabilities and action plans arising from vulnerability management/risk treatment actions to governance.
- Run a continuous improvement and change management program.
- Manage allocated capital, expense, and resources.
- Strong analytical skills to structure and execute process mapping, analysis, and assessment.
- Strong process design skills to define target output for a given process and use various levers to re-engineer it to achieve those outputs.
- Experience with process simulations and standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge of process engineering software systems.
- Previous experience with large-scale change programs focused on process optimization.
- Experience with the establishment and build-out of process engineering Centers of Excellence/hub and spoke operating models.
- Experience with relevant risk programs (e.g., stress testing, business continuity and disaster recovery, incident management).
- Experience with risk remediation, including root cause analysis, control design, and implementation.
- Ability to build and lead high-performing cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company, coupled with the ability to reason, persuade, and influence various stakeholders.
- Management consulting experience.
- Several years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Process automation experience.
- Experience with agile ways of working.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
