Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Calibration Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, driving, and operating our weighbridge test unit, as well as assisting with technical calibration duties on site and in the office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, drive, and operate the weighbridge test unit to undertake on-site accuracy testing of weighbridges.
  • Assist with technical calibration duties on site and in the office, including the receipt, preparation, inspection, calibration, and verification of weighing and measuring equipment.
  • Work with private sector engineers and Trading Standards Officers to ensure accurate and reliable calibration results.
  • Operate the purpose-built articulated 48,000kg weighbridge test unit, which can carry up to 20 calibrated one-tonne block weights and a forklift truck.
  • Undertake duties at the Calibration Test Centre in Hull, completing a range of technical tasks related to calibration and verification.
Requirements
  • A full driving licence category C and E (formerly HGV1 & HGV2) and up-to-date CPC or in the final stages of completion.
  • An accredited training certificate for the operation of a B1 (5,000kg) counterbalance forklift.
  • Good attention to detail, ability to work on own initiative, and represent the Humber Partnership in the company of external hirers.
  • Good IT, English, science, and maths skills.
