About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Executive to join our team at Azets. As a Payroll Executive, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process and auto enrolment compliance for a portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the payroll process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Deal with all associated payroll processing tasks, including auto enrolment compliance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring effective communication and client satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the wider team to review work produced by junior team members and support the Payroll Manager.
  • Lead by example in regards to attitude and processing of payrolls, setting a high standard for the team.
  • Be the first point of contact for the team, assisting and supporting colleagues in responding to client queries.
  • Support with legislation and system queries, ensuring the team has the necessary knowledge and skills.
  • Complete regular training for the wider team, covering topics such as legislation and systems.
  • Peer check payrolls to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Streamline processes and update payroll records/files as needed.
  • Undertake any ad-hoc duties or projects as required.
  • Produce and develop financial and operational reporting as needed.

Requirements

  • Over two years' experience in payroll, preferably in a bureau environment.
  • End-to-end payroll processing experience, including pensions, benefits, and statutory payments.
  • Ability to manually calculate a payroll.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Natural ability to coordinate, prioritise, and multitask with little supervision.
  • Strong customer-focused approach, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of payroll legislation, processing, and auto enrolment regulations.
  • Effective client management experience and steps towards staff management.
  • Mentorship and coaching experience to support other team members.
  • CIPP Foundation degree qualification or working towards this qualification.
