Learning Development Assistant

About the Role:
The Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teaching staff to provide individualized support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developing their learning and social skills. This will involve assisting with personal care, supervising behavior, and engaging with pupils to promote independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing individualized support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Assisting with personal care, as needed
- Supervising pupils' behavior and implementing strategies to promote positive behavior
- Engaging with pupils to promote independence and self-esteem
Requirements:
- Experience of supporting children or young adults with ASD
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively
- Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging behavior
- Valid DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
