Job Description

**Project Services Lead**

Semco Maritime is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Services Lead to join our Engineering & Construction team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and managing project controls services, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project controls processes and procedures to ensure effective project management.
  • Collaborate with the Planning Governance Manager and Cost Control Manager to implement best practices and ensure compliance with project controls standards.
  • Lead and manage the Project Control team, including Planners, Cost Engineers, and Estimators, to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Engage with business services teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support the E&C Department Manager, Planning Governance Manager, Cost Control Manager, and Project Delivery Lead in implementing best practices and ensuring compliance with project controls standards.
  • Drive ownership and accountability among project team members to manage change and ensure effective project delivery.
  • Liaise with client project controls functions and management to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide input to weekly and monthly client meetings to ensure effective project communication.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures for controlling projects, including Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies.
  • Ensure correct project controls tools and methodologies are applied to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Establish and manage project performance indicators to ensure effective project monitoring and control.
  • Drive input to weekly or monthly department performance reports to ensure effective project communication.
  • Support the Planning Governance Manager and Cost Control Manager to develop Schedule & Cost Risk Analysis (SRA, CRA) procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance within the Project Control team.
  • Analyze project data to enable early identification of problems and drive positive behaviors towards mitigating actions.
  • Create E&C specific reports to allow input to client annual budgeting cycle.
  • Support E&C Cost Engineers with analysis of cost report data.
  • Establish and manage project performance indicators to ensure effective project monitoring and control.
  • Review rejected invoices and manage PSS budgets, cost allocation, and invoicing.
Requirements
  • Experience on full project lifecycles within a Project Controls or Project Engineering function.
  • Contract knowledge – experience in various forms of EPC contracting.
  • Experience with an integrated project controls system.
  • Experience in Microsoft 365 data collection and analysis tools, including PowerBI.
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6.
  • Strong working knowledge of project controls theory and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, diligence, and self-discipline.
  • Able to handle change effectively and adapt to new situations.
  • Delivery-focused and committed to achievement of project/company goals.
  • Great leadership skills and enthusiasm.
Desired Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
  • Formal Project Controls Qualification (Cost or Planning Pathway).
