Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Activities Facilitator to join our team at the Goathill Complex in Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar. As an Activities Facilitator, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and undertaking a variety of activities and outings for residents in a 52-bedded care home and additional respite wing.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term position working 37 hours per week for six months. The successful candidate will have experience working within a care setting, with the ability to work with individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviors. You will be expected to forward plan and schedule activities, as well as share your knowledge and skills with colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan and deliver engaging activities and outings that cater to the diverse needs and interests of residents.
  2. Collaborate with care home staff, relatives, and other stakeholders to ensure a person-centered approach.
  3. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback.
  4. Develop and implement new activities and programs to enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., social work, arts therapy).
  • Proven experience working within a care setting, preferably with adults with dementia.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
What We Offer

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £26,760-£27,030 per annum, inclusive of a Distant Islands Allowance of £2,742 per annum. This role also offers opportunities for professional development and growth within the organization.
