Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

A skilled Manufacturing Engineer is required to join our team based in Glenrothes, Scotland. The successful candidate will be primarily focused on product manufacturing and process integrity, effectiveness, and efficiency. They will take ownership for product performance throughout the manufacturing process. The engineer will provide reporting and performance analysis as required.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Drive improvement through the use of Best in Class and World Class Manufacturing principles.
  • Participate in team activities with Integrated Program Team, Engineering, and other project teams.
  • Use manufacturing data to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Apply data-driven approaches to drive Systemic Root Cause and Corrective Action.
  • Identify, expedite, and/or escalate any quality or performance issues.
  • Recognize skills training or development requirements and escalate through management.
  • Attend regular Manufacturing Engineering sub-team meetings.
  • Report and maintain Manufacturing Engineering metrics, track performance against Team KPI, and Individual Goals & Objectives.
  • Ensure metrics are used/responded to optimize processes.
  • Support the Program Cells and the rest of the Engineering community when needed.
  • Support Engineering Management.
  • Where necessary, participate in DFM and 'manufacturability' analyses and reporting.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Mandatory Skills:
    • A minimum of HND in Manufacturing/Production Engineering or a related subject.
    • A high-performance Engineer and self-starter.
    • A strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes over a wide range of technologies and production platforms.
    • An analytical engineer who can efficiently process data to provide solutions to problems and communicate outcomes at all levels.
    • Able to demonstrate contributions to specific improvements in Production Programs' effectiveness, efficiency, and optimization.
    • Understand and promote the use of Equipment/Machine SPC to identify potential issues and prevent them.
    • Able to lead/participate in process FMEA, Control Plan, Process flow development, review, and risk mitigation processes.
    • Experience with various manufacturing platforms.
    • Understands the principles of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Desirable Skills:
    • A proven track record in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
    • A driven, confident Engineer able to create and maintain enthusiasm and energy levels across the team.
    • Able to communicate effectively at all levels across a range of disciplines and work with Engineering peer groups across the Manufacturing Division.

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000-$105,000 per year.
