Job Description

The Department for Culture, Media & Sport is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Head of Public Appointments and Governance. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of the public appointments process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of professionals responsible for managing the public appointments process, including the selection and appointment of senior officials and non-executive directors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the public appointments process, including the development of new policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government ministers, senior officials, and external organizations.
  • Provide guidance and support to senior officials and non-executive directors on matters related to public appointments and governance.
Requirements
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience of leading a team of professionals.
  • Deep understanding of the public appointments process, including the selection and appointment of senior officials and non-executive directors.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the public appointments process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide guidance and support to senior officials and non-executive directors on matters related to public appointments and governance.
