Our client, a reputable Specialist Contractor with a turnover of over £80 million, is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. The successful candidate will provide commercial support, assisting in developing commercial strategy for specific projects by maintaining and maximising profitability through timely requests for payment, minimising costs, securing payments, and accurate reporting.


Responsibilities
  1. Provide commercial awareness and understanding of all forms of Contracts within the Construction Industry.
  2. Work on both general and bespoke joinery projects.
  3. Create, review, and manage tender documentation, contracts, and formal notices, discussing them with suppliers.
  4. Demonstrate a strong professional determination to obtain desired outcomes and a full understanding of commercial and financial risks.
  5. Develop strong negotiation and effective resolution skills.
  6. Independently undertake key activities and liaise effectively with peers, customers, site managers, engineers, and suppliers.
  7. Represent project status at required meetings and present commercial risk and cost-effective opportunities to managers.
  8. Experience inputting data and creating applications into a financial system.
  9. Finalise Accounts.
Requirements

The ideal candidate must have a degree in Quantity Surveying with a minimum of 5-8 years' experience working with a Joinery Contractor. They should be determined, hardworking, organised, and eager to work in a competitive environment.
