Job Title: SQL Database Administrator

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our client's database team at VIQU Limited. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for installing, migrating, and supporting Business Intelligence (BI) stacks within the organization.

The successful candidate will work across multiple projects, handling tasks independently, making informed decisions, and collaborating effectively with the team. You will be involved in the testing, implementation, and post-deployment support of SQL systems, and will play a key role in the operational management of applications developed using a DevOps approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Holding current or recently lapsed Security Clearance
  • Developing robust SQL and database solutions
  • Leading migrations of BI stacks from older versions to newer versions
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft technologies, including SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Visual Studio, and SQL Server Management Studio
  • Optimizing existing BI-related code and analyzing SQL queries to improve performance
  • Taking ownership of code reviews and actively participating in peer reviews
  • Supporting the full data lifecycle, contributing to an agile working environment
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to colleagues when necessary
  • Experience with Terraform, Git, and PowerShell is a plus

Requirements:

  • Current, valid Security Clearance
  • Strong understanding of SQL and database management
  • Experience with BI stacks and Microsoft technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
