Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced School Caretaker to join our premises team as a lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the school's facilities, ensuring a safe and clean environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs, including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting. Coordinate and oversee larger repairs with external contractors.
  • Cleaning and Upkeep: Ensure the school premises, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and outdoor areas, are kept clean and orderly. This may involve sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waste disposal.
  • Security: Monitor the security of the school premises, including locking and unlocking doors, setting and disarming alarms, and conducting regular security checks. Report any security issues to the administration.
  • Groundskeeping: Maintain the school grounds, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and ensuring playgrounds and walkways are safe and clear of debris.
  • Support School Events: Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events, meetings, and activities.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with health and safety regulations. Report any hazards or unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of cleaning and maintenance supplies, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and orders are placed as needed.

Requirements

  • Experienced within maintenance roles.
  • School experience is preferred but not required.
