About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our SEN students as they work towards their academic and vocational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Learning: Assisting students in the classroom and during practical sessions, ensuring they receive the necessary support to succeed academically and vocationally.
  • Individualised Support: Working closely with students who have Autism, ADHD, and Moderate to Complex Learning Difficulties, adapting your approach to meet their specific needs.
  • Promoting Independence: Encouraging students to develop their skills, confidence, and independence, helping them to thrive both in school and beyond.
  • Collaborative Working: Working alongside teachers, SEN specialists, and other staff members to implement effective learning strategies and support plans.
  • Progress Monitoring: Observing and recording students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators to ensure each student's individual learning plan is effective.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, and Moderate to Complex Learning Difficulties would be advantageous.
  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification in education or SEN support is desirable but not essential.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative approach to working with colleagues, students, and their families.
