Role Overview

Kent County Council is seeking a Family Hub Community Development Worker to join their team in Folkestone and Hythe District.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and expansion of services for children, young people, and families from 0-19 (25 years for SEND).

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and strengthening local Family Hub networks through collaboration with partners and community organisations.
  • Encouraging community engagement and co-design initiatives to develop and inform Family Hub services.
  • Expanding volunteer opportunities to empower parents, carers, and young people to lead and participate in peer-to-peer groups and other Family Hub activities.

Requirements

  • A high level of organisational skills and ability to work effectively both as part of a team and self-directed.
  • Effective communication skills with children and their families.
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate effective participation and engagement opportunities.

This is a permanent, full-time role with hybrid working available. The post is considered customer-facing and requires a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. An Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service is also required.
