Role Overview
Kent County Council is seeking a skilled Community Development Worker to join its Family Hub team in Folkestone and Hythe District.
This is an exciting opportunity to build and expand services for children, young people, and families from 0-19 (25 years for SEND).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and strengthen local Family Hub networks with partners and community organisations.
- Encourage community engagement and co-design initiatives to inform Family Hub services.
- Expand volunteer opportunities to empower parents, carers, and young people to lead and participate in peer-to-peer groups and activities.
We value skills that foster community empowerment, address inequalities, and encourage active participation.
The Community Development Worker role is a permanent, full-time position with hybrid working available.
This post is considered customer-facing, and the Council has a statutory duty to ensure the post holder has sufficient spoken English/Welsh for effective performance.
