This role aligns closely with the responsibilities of a Matron, Team Lead, or Clinical Lead within the NHS.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as Deputy in the absence of the Hospital Director.
  • Oversee the performance and governance of all clinical departments.
  • Serve as a visible role model and leader, fostering a culture of learning, development, and professionalism.
  • Oversee clinical supervision, mandatory training, appraisals, and continuous professional development opportunities for nursing staff.
  • Implement career pathways, talent mapping, and succession planning for clinical staff.
  • Address development gaps and ensure training and performance issues are managed.
  • Recognise and reward positive staff performance.
