Job Opportunity: Consultant in Anaesthetics and Pain Medicine

NHS Scotland is committed to providing high-quality medical care to the population of Lochaber and beyond. We are seeking a Consultant in Anaesthetics and Pain Medicine to join our team at the Belford Hospital in Fort William.

The successful candidate will work closely with our existing Consultant Anaesthetists and the Medical and Surgical teams to deliver a first-rate service. The Chronic Pain Management Service covers a wide area, and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team to provide equitable and high-quality pain management for people where they live.

The role involves working in a dynamic and supportive environment, with opportunities for personal development and maintenance of clinical skills. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with GPs, physiotherapists, and First Contact Practitioners to improve equity and quality of pain management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Consultant Anaesthetists and Medical and Surgical teams to deliver a first-rate service

Requirements:

  • Consultant in Anaesthetics and Pain Medicine qualification
  • Experience in managing a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work collaboratively with GPs, physiotherapists, and First Contact Practitioners
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
