NVH CAE Engineer: Design Excellence

Role Overview:

In this role, you will contribute to the development of current and future vehicle programs and methodologies in NVH CAE at NIO. Your primary focus will be on developing and optimizing body and closures structures to meet vehicle, system, and component requirements. You will be an active member in improving Simulation capability and competence within the company.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop advanced Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) methods and train new starters.
  • Build, assemble, and analyze complete vehicle and system level finite element models.
  • Assess NVH requirements for full vehicle, body, and components using latest CAE methods and tools.
  • Develop and optimize vehicle, body, and component level designs to meet NVH requirements.
  • Define NVH requirements and perform correlation studies with physical test data.
  • Develop process improvements to enable faster, enhanced, and more robust analysis.
  • Assist with NVH attribute target development and competitor benchmarking.
  • Prepare and present study conclusions and proposals at Global CoE level.
  • Collaborate with Vehicle Engineering teams to deliver robust design solutions.

Requirements:

  • M.Sc. or higher education in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in Automotive Engineering and NVH CAE at an established OEM.
  • Thorough understanding of finite element analysis and hands-on experience with solvers like NASTRAN and OPTISTRUCT.
  • Pre- and post-processing tools like ANSA, META, HYPERMESH, NVHD, and HYPERVIEW.
  • Experience with Optimisation and DoE toolsets like Optistruct and Hyperstudy is preferable.
  • Knowledge of new technologies like 'Road Noise Cancellation (RNC)' or vibroacoustic/SEA tools like VA One is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and travel to China for program support.
