Job Title: Advanced Biomedical Scientist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As an Advanced Biomedical Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our immunocytochemistry and molecular service, driving forward faster diagnostics and treatment options for our patients.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team. You will be responsible for performing complex examinations of clinical specimens, providing expert advice and interpretation of laboratory investigations, and leading on teaching, training, and developing staff in the designated field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform highly complex examinations of clinical specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice and interpretation of laboratory investigations to healthcare professionals.
  • Lead on teaching, training, and developing staff in the designated field.
  • Deputise for the Deputy Service Manager as required.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • HCPC registration.
  • At least 5 years post-registration experience.
  • Evidence of relevant specialised or expert knowledge.
  • Evidence of team building and leadership skills.
  • Evidence of advanced skills in technical processes.
