Higher Education Administrator

We are seeking a proactive, organised and flexible Higher Education Administrator to support the fast-paced education agenda within the School of the Physical Sciences.
The role is integral in supporting the School Office, providing a high quality administrative function with a focus on our education remit.
As an Education Administrator, you will provide support to the Degree Committee team who have dual responsibility for Physics & Chemistry, and Earth Sciences & Geography and covers the student journey from application through to the award of Degrees. You will also support tasks around the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Doctoral Training Programme which funds PhD training across all the disciplines of Physical Sciences and Technology, the STEM Widening Participation Internship Scheme and more generally assisting the whole education team as needed, including our Director and Deputy Directors of Education.
This is a varied and fast paced role and we are looking for someone who is capable of managing their own time and prioritising their workload, with the guidance of other team members as needed.

You will work closely with the Degree Committee team to ensure the smooth running of the student lifecycle from application through to the award of degrees. Your duties will include:
Providing Administrative Support
You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Degree Committee team, which includes tasks such as preparing degree ceremonies, maintaining student records and ensuring compliance with university regulations.
Collaborating with Colleagues
You will work closely with colleagues across the School to ensure that administrative tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This may involve collaborating with colleagues in IT, HR and Finance departments to resolve issues or complete tasks.
Managing Complex Workload
You will be able to manage your own time and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and deliver results under pressure.
Your Skills and Qualifications
- A highly organised and efficient individual with excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
